As it does every year, Gandhi Seva Sangha celebrated “Kobi Pronam” on 7th June 2026 to pay homage to the two iconic poets of Bengal—Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam. The evening witnessed enthusiastic participation from members across generations, ranging from 5-year-old children to senior members aged 80+, making it a truly inclusive and heartwarming celebration of literature, music, and culture. The programme commenced with two inspiring chorus songs, “Akash Jure Suninu” and “Chol Chol Chol,” beautifully rendered by the members of Gandhi Seva Sangha.

The first session featured soulful solo songs and expressive recitations presented by participants of different age groups. The highlight of the evening was the Nritya-Geeti-Abritti Alekhya, “Borisho Dhora Majhe Shantir Bari.” This unique musical narrative wove together a carefully curated collage of songs and poems by both Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam, brought alive through a harmonious blend of music, dance, and recitation.

In today’s world, marked by conflict and unrest, this presentation was Gandhi Seva Sangha’s humble effort to spread the timeless message of peace, harmony, and humanity through the immortal creations of these two legendary poets. The stage was beautifully decorated maintaining the theme of peace.

The performance received heartfelt appreciation from the audience for its artistic excellence and its deeply relevant social message. The evening concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the rich cultural heritage of Bengal and to continue promoting the ideals of peace, unity, and universal brotherhood through art and literature.
